How to Start a Business in Advertisement

It is undeniable that the usual mode of advertisement is still a potent tool for businessmen despite the presence of online system. As a matter of fact, even internet businesses such as eBay and amazon.com employ and integrate offline forms of marketing. This preference opens the opportunity for starting a promising business in offline advertisement. And for those who are interested to venture on this line of business, I have some of the tips and things you should need and have for a good start.

Although this is something personal, I always consider ones interest and commitment as necessary in doing any business. Everything follows if one is determine to succeed. Attitude will greatly affect discernment on things crucial in doing business.

For a small set up, you need computer set and specialized printer and printing materials, scanner and your knowledge in Photoshop or any other related application. These tools are responsible for the production of posters, fliers, brochures, and other promotional materials. You could convert your garage or a small space of your house into business office. The feasible target client could be those whom you already know, like your friends and neighbors. From them, they may refer you to others.

Take note than when starting a business with this kind of set up, expect very little profit because you need to offer affordable and cheaper quality service. Otherwise, you’re not going to make it on this industry if you parallel your price to other established ones. Don’t worry, this is only on the start while carving and establishing your name in the industry. One tip to minimize your production cost is to buy your materials in wholesale basis. Also, be creative to maximize what you have by means of applying the 3 R’s (reuse, recycle, and reduce).

If you’re successful with making brochure and other printed materials, you may expand by including t-shirt printing and promotional giveaways and souvenirs (e.g. umbrellas, pens, cups, accessories and other things with promotional labels). Some of the things you need here are t-shirt printers, compressor for button pins, and others depending on what you will make. Always remember the rule of the thumb, when expanding always make your new offered service affordable.

If your family has one or more vehicles, then turn that one into a marketing vehicle and earn extra income. Offer it as an ad space for rent. Asked clients to post colorful magnetic stickers or you may even provide the ads for your clients. This will definitely attract attention. Knowledge on strategic places or market is necessary with this kind of marketing business so you will know when and where to drive your vehicle. For taxi owners, this is a definitely a good add-on on your income. Make your cabs an advertising transportation.

For those who have the capital to arrest big clients, the principle also applies. Make the products and services affordable but good quality. Usually, the most promising investment would be mass media. These are responsible for creating Informatials, and TV ads. But I would not be discussing the details of this line of marketing due to broadness and complicatedness, which requires more elaboration. But what I could suggest for those who have the capital is to see to it that the offer or service has a unique twist from the existing forms.

Marketing is integral in any line of business. Since you want to engage and play that integral necessity of business, you must be focused and observant in all the events around you as this would gave you the ideas you will need to maintain competitiveness.

Always remember that all things comes from simple. So it is highly suggested to aim for simple beginning and from there you can expand. Take note also that come what may, if you have the passion and correct attitude in this line of business, you will definitely succeed. So try some of those I have listed above. Good luck.

What’s your Business Plan to Gain Wealth?

Talking to different marketers the past few weeks I see a big difference in marketing efforts as to what many are able to do or not do.

First and foremost let me clarify that any marketing effort needs to be proceeded by a business plan. Simple things like-  What is the budget?  What schedule will you I able to maintain? What will be my expected ROI?(Return on Investment).  Decisions need to be made like…what will be my primary and secondary method of marketing. IE: Are you gong to have home parties as your primary followed by online marketing?

Here are a couple thoughts – Many people getting into a business are already working. They are looking to diversify or replace the primary income. Problem #1  =  Time. We already work 40 + hours a week plus we have all the normal family and life obstacles to deal with. What’s that leave? Maybe a couple hours two or three nights a week to “build a business”?  Why do you think so many opportunities advertise that you can make money in 10-15 hours a week! Because that’s all we have left to give…Right? Right! So again a well thought out business plan is crucial to your future success. We’ll discuss more on this later.

Problem # 2 – If your looking to make more money it’s  most likely due to the fact your not making enough to begin with. Correct?  So,  if your not making enough it’s kinda tough coming up with capital to invest into a new business opportunity! It can be a vicious circle and a primary reason why so many quit before they even get started.

However thousands of people continue joining or starting up a new business opportunity everyday with old favorites like Shaklee, Wealth Masters, Herbalife, Forever Living  just to name a few.  PLUS, all the newer companies! People want to be in business for them selves and I applaud that. Now, the trick is to help them find that “Business Plan” that truly works for them. With all the technology and web sites that can “Sell It” for you we have become way to dependent. Because of that the online revolution has become nothing more than a  opportunity to spam your friends and contacts in many cases. We also  have lost the need to truly learn the marketing and sales process. Because we have become such a “I want it now” society understanding the process and allowing that to build into a solid opportunity has become a rarity at best.

So where does that leave us? It leaves many looking at what seems to be a great opportunity from the outside in trying to break the code on how to become wealthy. Imagine the Holiday scene on a cold winter night looking through the big front picture window wondering …How did that family inside get to be the ones enjoying the warm fire, good food and relaxed lifestyle? Well more than likely they had a plan and followed that pan day in and day out to reach there level of success. I would also want to believe that plan has become a successful habit that continues working for them day after day almost on auto pilot.

So? What is your plan?  Have you factored in how much time you really have to spend working on a Plan B? Have you considered all the financials variables to lay out a true budget or will you continue flying by the seat of your pants handling issues as they arise? Have you looked at the various legal issues surrounding your business of choice? The FTC continues to tighten up on all the “Fly by nights” you see on a daily basis. Then and only then do you start better understanding the mindset of an entrepreneur and the task at hand to build your “business” big!

5 Simple Ways To Save on Gas…

Your smartphone and your credit card can be tools to reduce the damage of high gas prices to your budget.

By MSN Money partner on Fri, Apr 29, 2011 10:34 AM

This post comes from Jeanine Skowronski at partner site MainStreet.

Gas prices continue to rise to atmospheric levels, leaving many Americans to wonder how they can save on fuel during the forthcoming summer months.

Fortunately, while little can be done to stop escalating costs, there are a few steps motorists can take to minimize the toll it takes on their pocketbooks.

“The biggest way to save on gas is to lower the amount of fuel you use,” Jen Funkhouser, the co-founder and CEO of CarCheckup, tells MainStreet. The most obvious way to do this, of course, is to simply drive less, but for those who prefer to stay on the road, there are some small changes to your driving habits you can make.

Wealth Building Tip: LUKSA

From Our Friends @ JustSell.com

Too many people are losing productivity on a particular day of the week because of a Flinstone-like mentality perpetuated by sitcoms and morning radio personalities. (Search Twitter for the word “Mondays” at 8 am for proof.)

It’s getting to the point where Tuesdays are the new week. (Wednesday is hump day, Thursdays are almost Fridays, Fridays are practically the weekend and Mondays… They’re for ramping up.)

It’s time for a little luksa (it’s Polish for “let us kick some @$$”… not really… just an acronym we made up).

Could you spark a little positive revolution and help someone break out of the TGIF mentality (or yourself if it applies)? Could you help inspire a “let’s kick some @$$” Monday morning start to the week?

Wouldn’t both be more fun (and profitable)? How about just starting it at home?

Do You Own Your Own Business?

I have been blessed to work in the direct sales, MLM and affiliate marketing fields for several years now. When I slow down and take the time to study various issues within the industry, including why some prosper and why some don’t, I found myself coming back to a common theme.  Many times we see the following as part of the benefit statement for the opportunity and that is “Start your own Business”!

Now I do not want this post to become a platform for weather or not MLM is a legitimate business opportunity. It is and there are hundreds if not thousands of examples out there operating successfully with a MLM style compensation plan in place.

Starting your own business is a huge benefit statement to many because going back to the roots of our great country that’s what has made our economic structure so successful .  People come to America to get a new start, start their own business, become successful and live the good life!! WOW! The American dream …right? However, what I see are many direct sales and MLM companies making a mistake of promoting  it inaccurately.  The opportunity to be in business for your self is not always a true fact of the industry.  Now, before you go getting yourself all worked up and looking for my comment section let me explain.

My personal opinion on owning your own business is defined as the following:

You create or help create your product or service to be offered

You do the research for piecing together a viable compensation plan

You front the capital to purchase re-sell rights to an existing product or service

You invest in the immediate start up and infrastructure needed to deliver said product or service.

You are the OWNER / CEO of said company .

With most Direct sales and MLM opportunities it’s just that an “opportunity”. Somebody else has already done all the work listed above. You are just coming in as a direct sales person for that product or service and will be paid a commission for sales generated.  Now …Yes it can become a functioning independent business, but you need to first establish yourself as an independent business owner offering that companies product as part of your product mix.  Make since?  IE: JBNET Marketing is an affiliate partner with 2GSM and 911 Gas Card who in essence have contracted with me to sell their services under my business name.  Yes?

OK, Now that we have established what a business owner is or is not how does that relate to prospecting for new business into your MLM opportunity?  My main concern here is that we are cautious when presenting a benefit statement to our prospective customer or new business partner.  I want people to understand that to make money in any opportunity a sales transaction has to take place. Now if that sale comes through somebody visiting my web site and pushing the “Buy Now” button or it’s me sitting across the table and asking them to “Sign Here doesn’t matter.

We are sales people first looking to talk to people (prospects) who do not own what we sell and want to listen to our solution.  The “ownership” comes from taking charge of your  goals, putting them into a written action plan and then applying massive action to that plan!

 To your success!
